It was a pleasure meeting with the Buruku Elders and the Stakeholders of the All Progressive Congress APC, who passed a vote of confidence on the Executive Governor of Benue State Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia and also resolved to queue behind him and his administration on the 15th April, 2024.
The stakeholders unanimously made these firm declarations when a stakeholders first meeting was held at the my Makurdi residence of as the leader of the party in Buruku.
I made it known that it was my personal resolve to ensure that the good people of Buruku continued in their support for the masses friendly governor while reiterating Gov Alia’s unwavering dedication to infrastructure development, capacity building and the welfare of the state citizenry.
Enumerating the governor’s numerous achievements and his unflinching love for Buruku people, I emphasized the absolute importance of riding with the governor for the development of the state.
I also refuted the phrase “Tombo mba a angbôr ke Ato” meaning Tombo people’s ears are filled with molds. I further emphasized the need for the people to always think progressively.
Speaking, the Special Adviser to the governor on Labour and Union Matters, Hon. Eld. Iyoo Igbondu commended the governor for his developmental strides and love for the Buruku people. He said as an elder, it was his duty to guard/guide the commissioner jealously while giving him his maximum support to succeed in his assigned duties.
Earlier, the Caretaker Chairman, Hon. Agber Ifan in his welcome speech appreciated the governor for enabling them the platform and thanked everyone present for honoring the impromptu meeting and also charged them to always preach the gospel of Fr Alia.
In unanimous voices of Eld. Vangeryina Abya, Dominic Saawuam, Hon. Iorwa, Hon. Akaater, Hon. Terver Achagh, Hon. Ahoho Terungwa, Akume Benedict, all praised the governor and assured of their undiluted support for the governor and his administration.
Highlights of the meeting were the presentation of all the governor’s Appointees, the Party’s State Publicity Secretary Hon. Terseer Agber and APC Buruku Chairman, Hon. Terver Achagh.
Buruku Local Government is made up of 13 council wards with 4 development areas, each council Ward had in attendance representatives while 2 speakers each from the development areas spoke.
Also present were ES Christian Pilgrimage, Mr. Gbamwuan, Hon. Williams Angban, Hon. Sam Tough, Mr Zege Aondoakura Raymond, Hon. Samuel Katsina, Dr. Orfega Zwawua, Hon. Silas Aume, Hon.
